The internet is littered with articles on “how to cancel your Apple Music subscription” but the problem is, sometimes you cannot cancel your Apple Music subscription.
Here are some reasons why you cannot cancel your Apple Music subscription:
- You bought the subscription from another company other than Apple.
- You used a different Apple ID for your subscription.
- The subscription is registered under a different family member.
If you are having trouble canceling your Apple Music subscription and you are in a rush, the best thing you can do is to contact Apple Support and have them cancel it for you.

Cancel your Apple Music subscription from Settings
Open the Settings app on your mobile device, then tap on your Apple ID (your profile picture). Tap Subscriptions, and it will show all your subscriptions associated with your Apple ID.
In order to cancel Apple Music, tap your subscription then tap “Cancel Subscription”. It will ask for your confirmation whether you want to cancel it or not. Tap “Confirm”.
If you cancel your subscription now, you can still access Apple Music until the subscription end date. You won’t be charged on the next renewal date for the service.
Cancel your Apple Music subscription from the App Store
You can also access the Apple Music subscription page from the App Store. If you cannot cancel it from Settings. Go to the App Store, then tap your profile picture in the top right corner.
From here, you can tap the Subscriptions page, which will take you to the same interface. Simply tap your Apple Music subscription then tap “Cancel Subscription”.
Cancel your Apple Music subscription on your Mac
Open the App Store app on your Mac. Click your name. If you can’t find your name, click Sign In. Click Account Settings, scroll to Subscriptions, then click Manage.
Simply tap your Apple Music subscription then tap “Cancel Subscription”.
Cancel your Apple Music subscription on your Windows PC
You need to have iTunes on your Windows PC to do this. If you don’t have it, please download iTunes for Windows. Once you have downloaded the app, please open iTunes.
From the menu bar at the top of the iTunes window, choose Account, then choose View My Account. Scroll to the Settings section. Next to Subscriptions, click Manage.
Simply tap your Apple Music subscription then tap “Cancel Subscription”.
Cancel your Apple Music subscription from a web browser
Did you know that you can cancel your Apple Music subscription from the web? If you cannot cancel your Apple Music subscription on your mobile device, try doing it from a web browser.
- Go to music.apple.com.
- Choose Sign In at the top of the page.
- If you don’t see Sign In, you’re already signed in.
- Click the account icon.
- Click Settings.
- Scroll to Subscriptions and click Manage.
- Choose Cancel Subscription.
Whether you are using a MacBook or a Windows PC, you can cancel your Apple Music subscription from a web browser. Make sure you sign into the correct Apple ID.
Still cannot cancel your Apple Music subscription?
If you have tried to cancel your Apple Music subscription with the methods above but you are not able to, it’s time to dig deeper into the problem. To do this, find your receipt.
Search your email using the keyword “receipt from Apple.” You should be able to find your Apple Music subscription receipt. On the receipt, check which Apple ID was used.
1. You bought the subscription from another company
If you can’t find an invoice from Apple for the subscription, you may have bought your Apple Music subscription from another company other than Apple.
Check your bank or credit card statement to find out which company is billing you. To cancel the subscription, you must contact the company that’s billing you for the subscription.
For example, if you pay for Apple Music with Google Pay, you can only cancel your subscription in the Apple Music app on your Android device or at play.google.com.
2. You used a different Apple ID for your subscription
If another Apple ID that you use appears on the receipt, you will need to sign in with that Apple ID and use the steps in this article to cancel the subscription.
3. The subscription is registered under a different family member
You cannot cancel a family member’s subscription. Ask that family member to use the steps in this article to cancel the subscription if a family member’s Apple ID appears on the receipt.
Contact Apple support and let them cancel it for you
If you have tried everything but still cannot cancel your Apple Music subscription, contact Apple Support and tell them to cancel your subscription from their end.

Important: If you signed up for a free or discounted trial Apple Music subscription, and you don’t want to renew it, make sure to cancel it at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
