Hulu Live TV gives you access to all of Hulu’s on-demand content, plus dozens of live TV channels. However, some people noticed that Hulu Live TV was not working as expected.
If Hulu Live TV isn’t displaying or working right, here’s how you can fix it quickly.
Manage your home network
If Hulu Live TV isn’t showing, but your subscription is active, manage your Home network. To do this, you’ll need to access the Hulu Live TV website.
Sign in to your account and click on the profile icon. Then, head to the “Privacy and Settings” section, click on “Set or Change Home” and follow the prompts on-screen.
This sets your home location, so do it at your house.
Then quit Hulu from your television and sign back in. Your Hulu live channels should be showing up now. Ensure the filter is set to ‘all’ to see all live channels.
Call Hulu’s customer support
If Hulu Live TV doesn’t show the right local channels, call Hulu customer support for help.
The problem is with the ISP, not the streaming device. Give the Hulu rep your physical and IP addresses. This lets them override the ISP address.
Check Hulu using Downdetector
Sometimes, Hulu goes down and all channels freeze. When this happens, a channel might play the last minute before freezing again. You also can’t fast-forward during this.
The first thing you should do is make sure Hulu is up and running. You can visit downdetector.com/status/hulu/ to get a real-time overview of issues and outages.
If Hulu is down, you won’t be able to watch Live TV. It’s as simple as that. It’s a bummer, but all you can do is wait for Hulu to work again.
Switch to a different Wi-Fi network and then switch back
If Hulu is working but you can’t watch Live TV on your Fire TV Stick, try switching to a different Wi-Fi network and then switch back. This should fix it.
Most Hulu Live TV users see Error Code: P-TS207. This code means there’s a playback error, often due to connection issues.
Open Hulu Live on another device for a few minutes
If changing the internet connection doesn’t help, try streaming Hulu Live TV on another device, such as a phone or computer, before returning to your TV.
My parents and I usually watch Hulu Live TV on the weekends. Once, my dad wanted to watch live football, but Hulu Live TV wasn’t working. Hulu showed the local channel briefly, then went dark and returned to the home screen. Keep in mind, we watch Hulu on a Roku TV.
So, I signed into my Hulu account on my mobile device to check my subscription.
Everything was fine, so I watched a local channel on my phone. On my phone, Hulu took a few seconds to load but eventually worked. After about ten minutes, I opened Hulu on the TV, clicked Live, and it worked well.
I think my dad often leaves Hulu running. I believe the Live TV got stuck on the last channel he watched, causing the error.
If there’s an internet connection loss, which is common, it might stop the syncing process and cause Hulu Live TV to not load right.
You’re dealing with a system overload
I always face issues watching live sports on Hulu at around 10 PM Eastern Time (ET). I assume it’s because many others are tuning in then.
Despite good internet speed, the broadcast buffers a lot.
It replays the last ten seconds and then goes back to buffering in a loop. Hulu Live TV often buffers, but when the show resumes after 10-15 seconds, it picks up right where it left off.
I believe Hulu streams content by sending out video in successive data packets.
I can’t confirm this online, but I think it’s a good guess. During peak times, they might struggle to send data quickly, leading to the replay loop. I’m only guessing, but I know it’s not a Roku issue.
I watched Hulu on my phone and computer without problems.
I’ve faced this buffering issue with Hulu Live TV since I started watching. Though Hulu tried fixing it, the problem has returned. Let’s hope Hulu finds a lasting solution.
